Katy Perry and her Royal Nails

Never one to shy away from wacky nails Katy Perry posted this pic on Twitter in dedication of the Royal Wedding yesterday. This personally isn't a look I would go for but considering her now British ties I think it's a lovely way to show her support in a way she knows how.

I thought I would also share a couple of other recent crazy nails she has been sporting.

Not the most practical nails...
Candy nails? A much shorter look then we have seen on her before
What do you think?

Did you watch the wedding? I did, and I really loved it, she looked amazing and I will probably post more about this...

Every Nail Enamel Addict will NEED/WANT This BOOK!

This gorgeous little book is a must for any nail polish addict such as myself (Hello- my name is miss chew and I am a nail polish addict). The book titled Enamel Diction takes you through every nail colour of the rainbow and explains what it really means when you decide to paint your nails Aqua or Fluro Pink.
Each double pages holds a different colour and explains a different kind of personality.
Not to be made to be too deep and meaningful it really is a whole lotta fun!

This lovely book also asks the question: Is the shiny polish we wear a true reflection of ourselves or just gloss?

You can find out more information on their website: www.enameldiction.com

Activance Hair Stimulant- Making your hair Kardashian Friendly!

I am currently growing my hair long, longer then ever before and I am finally doing it in a way that it is healthy and not just cause I haven't had it cut in years... (hmm that reminds me I am in need of a cut). I take very good care of my hair and it is in better condition then it has been since I was a child. The one thing I lack is Kardashian volume. I am almost at their length but I want some bounce to my hair y'all! Check out the pic below- now thats what I am talking ABOUT!

It wasn't until I tried this nifty little product called Activance-$55 that I finally started to get me some volumne!

Touted as the worlds first hair cosmeceutical product this product not only gives me great volumne but for people with thinning and damaged hair it is great to restore what has lost.

I was talking to a hairdresser at a top Sydney Hair Salon that stocks this product and she said to apply whenever you brush your teeth so as often as possible, I will admit it took a few weeks to really notice the difference but I notice now that day after I wash my hair when I brush it VOOM volume!

This products star ingredient is called Rhodanine which is found in egg yolks (yep egg yolks) apparently the levels we have naturally in our hair become depleted with washing, heat styling, dying and by adding Rhodanine to your hair you can boost moisture and help reforge the bonds in your hair making it stronger.

Activance not only will make your hair fuller and but will assist in preventing hair loss- a clear winner for me!

When you apply the product it is not sticky and smells like a teenager boy deodrant but that smell doens't last (and I have smelt worse products).

You can find Activance: from their website at www.activance.com.au or call for your nearest stockist on 03 9326 8844

What do you think, worth it to get Kardashian hair?

Finding Mr Bright-Benefit gets it Right!

My love of Benefit goes all the way back, love, love, love! I read about this range of products packaged together ages ago and knew I was going to be purchasing this product asap!

One of the reasons I was keen to get this is that it gives me the opportunity to try lots of Benefit products I hadn't tried before.

The Benefit Finding Mr Bright-$45 contains "Girl meets Pearl", "Posietint", "High Beam" and "Erase Paste".
From Left to Right- Erase Paste, High Beam, Posie Tint and Girl Meets Pearl
Erase Paste- Is a concealer and this was the one product which dissapointed me as you can't choose the colour that comes with it and for my very pale skin this is way, way to dark. The product however is creamy and blends really well and I want to get one in my colour.

High Beam- I love, love high beam. It is called a complexion enhancer and it really does that. It comes out a beautiful pearl colour which I have been applying to my brow bone just under my eyebrow and it really not only enhances my bold brows but makes my skin just radiate.

Girl Meets Pearl- I had been wanting to purchase this product since it first came out and I have not been let down. This is just divine. It really makes your skin just glow. For night time party time makeup I mix in with my foundation for a all over "glow" or during the day time once I have applied my foundation I apply this creme to my cheekbones which just gives me a subtle glow which I just adore.

Posie Tint- This product is just divine as well. This product is like the adorable kid sister of Benetint. Benetint was a huge product fave of mine for years and it gave you a grown up flush to your cheeks. Posie Tint gives you a lighter more innocent flush to your cheeks which is just adorable to use especially during the day.

And there you have it guys, a fantastic selection of product which really does enhance your complexion. I find the price point makes this really worthwhile.

I know I will continue to get a lot of use out of this range of products.

Have you tried any of these products before?

The lip products I cannot live without!

Ok I know that is a bold claim and I can probably do without these products but these products are in my handbag everyday so they are very important to me. I thought I would share and then open the forum up to you guys, what products can you not live without?

Ok starting from left to right:

-Burt's Bees Replenishing Lip Balm- I love this lip balm, it feels great on my lips, keeps them ultrahydrated and has just a hint of colour
-Smashbox Limitless Long Wear Lip Gloss with SPF 15- This gloss is super glossy and lasts for hours. The colour I love is Timeless and is a really subtle coloured gloss
-Avon Smooth Minerals Lip Gloss in Plum Craze- I love this as it is quite a dark plum colour on my lips for my bold colour. I love it coming up to winter when I am out on appointments. The lipgloss isn't too sticky either
-Benefit Pillow Talk Lippie- Ooooooh my most wearable pink as it is so damn hydrating and looks fab on.
-Lastly I always have a lip brush handy and the one I am using is Napoleon which is in a handy case, I prefer to apply lippie this way
-Mirror- always handy for the touch ups!

Ok so there you go guys!

Love, love, love them!

Ok I have millions more but these right now get me through pretty much every situation!

What are your faves you can't do without?

Australis Paparazzi Perfect Eyeshadow- Review and Swatches

When I was a teen, I am not going to lie I owned many Australis eyeshadow palettes, I used to throw caution (and style) to the wind and experiment with many different colours (sometimes all at once). Let me tell you Australis new Paparazzi range is all grown up kind of glamour. Never to shy away from a photo or 2 being taken and having my perfect pose down pat I know just how important it is to have your makeup photo perfect.
The palette which was my clear favourite as it suits my skin tones better is called Totally Busted- Australis Paparazzi Perfect Eyeshadow- $15.95.  I love these colours, there is so much fun to be had to mix up with different looks. What I do really love though is the pigments are really strong to give you bold colours.

Below are swatches on my arm...(try to ignore just how pasty I am...)

As you can see there are colours from a nice light silver to a dark charcoal and a light peach to a dark pink.

The compacts come with a mirror love that and no annoying brushes that you will never use!

 Simple, stylish and perfect.

You can find these palettes and the rest of the Paparazzi Perfect range: At Priceline, Big W, Target, Kmart and selected chemists.

What do you think?

Did you have a love affair with Australis eyeshadow palettes when you were young?

Lymphatic Drainage massage- A relaxing expierence

On the weekend I took myself off for a Lymphatic Drainage massage to a therapist which I have had other massages before but not this. Lymphatic Drainage Massage has always intrigued me, in my mind I thought it was a hard massage getting the fluid moving around your body yet I was in for something completely different.

It was explained to me that we picked areas which I was in need of the extra help which was my face, neck, chest and tummy, but let me explain about how the lymphatic system works before I get in to more details.

The Lymphatic system is like the garbage express highway of your body, it is connected throughout your whole body and the largest lymph glands being where you sweat more. There are so many glands in your face which without proper drainage leads to additional congestion which is something I am constantly struggling with! Grrr...

The lymph nodes which form part of the bodys defense system remove microorganisms and other foreign substances. They act as a filtration system that keeps particulate matter, such as bacteria, from entering the bloodstream.Stimulating the lymphatic system through manual lymphatic drainage will activate all of the above functions as well as encourage fluid circulation and cell regeneration. Both actions promote detoxification, facilitate healing and support the immune system (view the rest of the article here).

The massage itself is done with the very softest touch as it is not trying to work the muslces but instead the fluid which sits on top of where the glands are.

The massage went for a hour and after the session ended my therapist said it was successful but that it took a while for my lymphatic system to respond (now how the hell did she know that) apparently as the body starts to respond and fluid begins to move about you become really thirsty as the fluid is being drawn from your mouth so you start to swallow... a lot...

The massage starts on my chest and my therapist works her way up my neck and face and scalp then to my belly and the glands which are on either side of your groin (well more like, think of where you think your ovaries are and then out a little more to each side) and then works her way up my abdomen.

Now that I think back, gosh I was as thirsty as someone going for a stroll in the desert... This is completley normal and very healthy.

This is a treatment which I will have again as the benefits to my (very often) sluggish immune system as we approach Winter and the cold and flu system, by giving my immune system a boost I know it will help me cruise through this year.

A treatment which can ward off cold and flus and minimise congestion on my skin not to mention get my gut moving AND relax me at the same time??

I like the sound of that!

Have you ever tried Lymphatic massage? What did you think?

Fake Chanel Black Pearl Nail Polish? Sign me up...

I do love a good trend but (quite often) it is way, way, way out of my price range :(
Chanel is known to lead the way in Nail trends as I have spoken about before and the latest craze is the Black Pearl. Such a divine colour and a clear move away from the pastels. The colour itself is a really inky dark colour which I love. It is so different from anything else I have in my collection. The fact is $39 for a nail polish can be a little too much for me.
When I had heard Sportsgirl where bringing out a fantastic fake I had to get my hands on it. The colour is from their Nail It range called Berlin-
$7.95
. The colour looks so beautiful. As you can see from the Chanel below it is such a unreal copy and I actually think I like it more.

The cheap price is amazing and I love it! I do love a great fake chanel!

Caviar for your hair? Yup I am completely serious and it is amazing!

Hair that is soft to touch and has no breakages is really a huge goal for me and a on going struggle. I really feel like I give my hair hell sometimes, between colouring, sweat and trying a gazillion products all the time, it really gets a beating.
At the end of last year I took myself off to a day spa (I know a little posh I know) and I was lucky enough to get treated to a treatment and wash and blow dry with the (then) brand new range from Alterna which contains Caviar and is a anti-ageing range.

The range contain no Sulfates, no Parabens, no Paraffin, no animal testing and the list goes on...Basically know your hair is in the best hands.

Now I know in the past I have spoken of great budget shampoos but this is really the creme de la creme and you pay for it. The Shampoo and Conditioner retail for just under $40 although the day spa I went to tried to get me to buy them for $49 each hmmm... that is a different story, but let's not go there.

When I used these products my hair was transformed to softer hair than a baby, yep I went there, it makes your hair that soft. I was like a kid patting a kitten...

The reason it does this is because it contains Seasilk which nourishes and hydrates your hair. The Omega-3 Caviar Extract restores vitality to your damaged hair and helps you to regain the strength and softness of your youth. Not only will your hair be super soft and feel amazing but it will be so shiny due to it's renewed appearance.

I honestly think they are worth the price and make a huge difference to your hair.

I know I haven't looked back!

Dermalogica Microfoliant- Great Daily Exfoliator

This Dermalogica product is one I have been hiding for a while and really should tell you all about it as it's amazing. The Dermalogica Microfoliant-$83.50 is a gem of a product. I love it as I wear a lot of makeup most days due to my work which means I really need that little bit of extra help to make sure my skin stays clean and pimple free from all the build up.
The way that this product works is that it is a rice based powder (nice and gentle) which to use it you have really wet hands and apply the powder and rub your hands together to activate the product and to turn it into a paste which you rub into your skin using circular motions.
I find that there are tiny little beads which really gently exfoliate your skin leaving it feeling cleaner, looking brighter and more clear- this is exactly what I need.
Since using this product for a while (I don't really use it every single day, but most days) it has really helped to get my breakouts under control.

I would highly recommend this product as a great addition to your skin care regime especially as it is suitable for all skin types.

Have you tried this before?

A touch of sparkle on your nails, brightens up your day!

Since I am on my ipad all day and pointing and drawing peoples attention to certain aspects of my works website, (I know it sounds random) but my point is people always are drawn to my fingers and my hands so I need to make sure my nails are always in great condition (no chipped nails here), when I painted them tonight I thought I would add a touch a sparkle (which is also the approach I take on life).
For this I have chosen Mecca Cosmetica in Perdita and CM nail art in Silver Glitter. I think the silver goes perfect over that muted colour.

Do you ever jazz up your nails?

Suede Nail Polish? OPI your a interesting kid you are...

Another little goodie I received in the Beauty Blogger Swap is this nifty nail lacquer by the amazing OPI from their suede range this beautiful purple is called "We'll always have Paris". This range is very unique, when you apply it it appears quite matte but actually has a very soft shimmer which I really enjoy. When you apply it they say to not do a base coat which I did which I didn't find to be a problem and no top coat to get the full effect. If you want it matte like my nails then don't but I actually applied a top coat after (can't help myself) and the effect was still slightly matte and made my nails look a lot more shimmery which was a really nice look so there is a lot you can play around with this range.
I have received so many compliments when wearing it.

Have you tried the Suede collection?

What do you think?

A little taste of Royalty- Kit Cosmetic Her Royal Nailness

With the Royal wedding quickly approaching there is a huge buzz right now and the latest to hop on the Royal bandwagon is one of my personal faves Kit Cosmetics. Kit Cosmetics have brought out a Royal themed range called "Her Royal Nailness". The range which will be available throughout Kit Cosmetics stores and online from Monday 11th April and I was lucky enough to try my fave the Sapphire Blue-$15.95. I have been looking for the perfect navy nail polish for ages and this has most definitely fit the bill. The colour is rich and a true deep sapphire colour as the name suggests.

The lovely bottle I received even had a Royal Engagement Ring! Loves it! This is about as close as I will get to Royalty haha!
My boyfriend even said he thinks out of all the colours I have worn on my nails this is his favourite which really surprises me.
This colour gives a more accurate colour swatch, on my stable table ha!
You should all go pick up a little taste of Royalty whilst you can!

Such a great formular, but then again I would expect nothing less from Kit Cosmetics Nail Polish!

Are you excited about the Royal Wedding? Don't give a damn?

The Best Darn Pimple Zapper EVER! Yep I said ever!

Sometimes you can do everything you can to look after your skin and protect it from breakouts yet it still happens, maybe you are a bit more stressed then normal or it might be that time of the month (sometimes it really sucks to be a chick, god my skin would be amazing otherwise).
When pimples really rear their ugly, ugly head this is your new best friend.
Ok I have really been around the block when it comes to beauty products and yet I have NEVER seen anything like this. The Mario Badescu Drying Lotion-$48.95 is a ruthless killer of pimples. It contains both Calamine (which explains the colour and smell) and Salicylic Acid.

To use it: Ok this is where it gets interesting. You DO NOT shake the bottle it is supposed to have the pink powder settled down in the bottom. Using a cotton ear bud you dip it all the way in til it touches the pink powder then bring it straight back out so it looks like this.
Then only clean skin you apply a dot of this onto the pimple and it will draw out the impurites. When I use this my pimples go from angry and aggressive to tiny little kittens by the morning.

They go away in a fraction of the time they normally would. You may not look like the most attractive person if you are in a relationship when you go to bed, my boyfriend finds it extremely hilarious but hey, it works!

Like my example? Ha! It reminds me of what it was like as a kid with chicken pox!

This product is available through Kit Cosmetics.

What is your favourite pimple buster?

Sportsgirl "Nails it" on trend with Vampire obsession

This NOTD is brought to you by Sportsgirl "Vampire" colour from their apptly named "Nail IT" range which I love. Like their clothes they really know how to nail (*ding*) a trend and this colour which I picked up at out Beauty Blogger Swap follows suit with our love and obsession with all things vampire. Whether it be Twilight (I'm team Edward btw) or True Blood they really have us all hooked!

To paint this colour on the consistency in this formular means it is really easy to apply and on some nails I hardly felt the need for a second coat. The colour is actually quite metallic and in certain lights looks slightly different. This colour will be great for me going into Winter.

I decided to mix it up by applying a BYS glitter onto one nail which is fun.

The Sportsgirl nail polishes retail for $7.95 cheap as chippies... well what are you waiting for??

March Empties

So I know soooooooo many beauty bloggers do a "Empties" post and I thought it would make sense to do one too. For me, I love reading them as it really lets me know what products bloggers "really" love, as they love them enough to use the entire thing.
So this is my empties for the month of March:

-Grown organic vanilla and orange peel hand cream- $24my goodness I love this, smells divine and makes my hands super soft, I particularily like to slather it on my mitts before I go to bed.
-L'Oreal ever pure shampoo and conditioner-$14.95 each one of the cheapest and best I have used in a long time. My hair is so bouncy and vibrant from using them!
-Arbonne translucent loose setting powder- my fave translucent powder to set my makeup and make it last all day long
-Dermalogica special cleansing gel- such a nice gentle cleanser which feels so nice on my skin and smells so relaxing
-Burt's Bees radiance eye creme- love this eye cream! My eyes feel so hydrated all day after using this eye creme and as you only need a tiny amount it lasts so long!
-Rexona hypo-allergenic body responsive deodrant- my go to deodrant that protects me all day long

If you have any questions about these products please let me know!

New LIMITED Edition NARS!!

NARS is such an amazing makeup brand. Whenever I am using it, I feel confident, sexy and right on trend.

"Inspired by ancient river mouths, the most famous of which is found in the Massif des Calanques in the Bouches-du-Rhône region of France."

This amazing little eyeshadow palette is divine. When you first inspect it, the 3 colours are each so different. The first colour on the left is a caramel colour with gold flecks which is really subtle, great to use to wash over the entire eyelid over the other colours and to soften the look. The middle colour which looks really matte but on the skin it really subtly metallic which I love. The last colour is so highly pigmented which means you only need a tiny amount and with the dark brown colour comes gold flecks through it.

Gosh this palette is so divine it is really endless the options you can create with it.

This is available through Mecca Cosmetica.

Update- no posts today

So I just wanted to let you all know there will be no normal Friday post today. My car which I am getting rid of in 2 months broke down and I didn't get home til well after midnight. I was up at 5am to get my car to the mechanic and now I am well stuffed. It is going to cost me a fortune to fix which frustrates me to no end.

I will resume normal posting next week.
