Kiehl's Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate REVIEW!

When you think of Vitamin C, what do you think of? Oranges maybe? Or a way to get rid of that pesky cold or to prevent one from coming on? Well I urge you guys to think of Vitamin C as a big helping hand for our skin.
Vitamin C seriously is amazing for your skin, it evens your skintone and decreases wrinkles- honestly it really does and the product I have been loving with all its Vitamin C goodness is Kiehl's  Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate-$89. This little product contains 10.5% pure Vitamin C which is some pretty hefty quantities.

This nifty little image below explains it all well...

You use this serum on clean, dry skin and it has a faint chemical smell which goes away straight away. The formular is white in consistency and I make sure I give the bottle a shake before I apply as the formular gets a little gluggy otherwise. Once you apply it on your skin it almost feels like a primer, you know that really smooth feeling you get when you apply them? Just a word of warning though, be careful around the eye area, go no where near it as if it gets in your eyes it stings like no tomorrow!

Sometimes when I apply it, I almost feel a light tingly, stinging feeling which last maybe 10 seconds but to me that just means its working.

Since using this product I have noticed the sun spots on my face fading and my acne scars fading as well as a all round glow to my skin. Vitamin C really is the shit, I am telling you and like the poster says it is just as powerful as retinol and I love that it gets deep into my skin to heal it and make it glow.

I just want to say though that like nearly every serum I have ever tried (gosh that's a lot) you really need to give the product up to a month to notice the difference and to take effect.

You can find Kiehl's products from their stands a David Jones and Myer, their flagship store in Paddington and now on their website www.kiehls.com.au.

Have you realised the wonder that is Vitamin C?

Review: The Jojoba Company Absolute Serum and Pure Australian Golden Jojoba

The Absolute Serum
The Jojoba Company is a fantastic Australian grown company which has risen among the international brands hitting our shores and has stayed true to it's Aussie roots. I was lucky enough recently to be able to try both their Absolute Serum and their  Pure Australian Golden Jojoba.

To start off with I would like to mention that all the Jojoba products contain no nasties including; parabeens, sulfates, Paraffin, artificial colours or fragrances among many others, WIN! I just love hearing about this from brands, to me it means they have stayed true to themselves and the products they are offereing.

The Absolute Serum-$79.95 is an anti-ageing serum has 2 particular ingredients  called Silymarin and carnosine which help do the usual "anti-ageing" thing of reducing fine lines and plump your skin. It also contains my fave wonder ingredient Hyaluronic Acid which helps your skin hold in the hydration and it has vitamin C which I have also said before is perfect at healing imperfections in your skin.

When I use this serum I notice that it is very light and you only need the smallest amount as it goes a long way. When I gently move the product into my skin, my skin feels hydrated and well loved, something we all really need with this nasty weather. (If you live in Sydney right now, how crazy has this wind been? So unkind for your skin). I notice with my skin that the fine lines which become more prominent when I know my skin is dry have lessened and my skin is returning to it's "glow". The product smells beautiful and natural and really is a pleasure to use and I will keep using it for sure.

The second product Pure Australian Golden Jojoba-$18.95 is a wonderful liquid wax. Liquid wax you ask?? Yes liquid wax, this product which jojoba call "natures natural wrinkle fighter which is also a antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, hypo-allergenic and analgesic" contains wonderful anti-oxidants, as well as your omega 6 and 9 among many others really does wonders.

How it works is really interesting, it is carried in through your skin through your skins sebum or oil carrying vessels its the sebum which naturally acts to moisturise our skin. This product aims to assist this process which decreases as we age. What for me, I loved about this product is that is can be used anywhere, not just for your face, I know my poor legs can really suffer in this weather, no matter how much I moisturise so this product really helps to get that moisture back into my skin, no more scaly legs.

The other great part of this product is the price, it's cheap as chippies and means you can bump up to a bigger bottle. The recent new fave way to use this product though is as a deeply moisturising hair mask, just pop it in your washed hair over night and wash out the next day, trust me your hair will be ridic soft!

I highly recommend supporting this great Australian brand.

Heal and Protect your Skin with Danne Montague King

A couple of months ago I began a Danne Montague King journey, now not quite as full on as Kimmy from The Plastic Diaries which you can read all about here but it was my own journey. Isn't it funny that something so life changing can just happen out of nowhere especially when it is not even planned, that was how I stumbled across Kaye Owen. Kaye Owen is an amazing woman and therapist who I literally do anything she says when it comes to skin care as she knows it all. The only products she works with and will ever work with at this stage is Danne Montague King. For years I have been intrigued by this brand as it really is all about the treatments and not on the fancy packaging and I had only ever heard very amazing things said about this range. You can only find them from therapists as they need to be prescribed to you, but this is not what this blog is about.

I will do a separate post on my full journey as it is going to take me ages to compose as the journey is very involved.

Today I just want to talk to you about one product that I have been using since which is the Danne Montague-King Beta Gel-$132. This is also called a bettaglucan serum and is really a standout product for me. I feel like every day as a blogger I learn more and still find more amazing products to add in or swap for in my skincare routine which makes me love skin care that little bit more.

This serum is what they call "immuno-boosting" when you have skin conditions such as acne for me or ageing skin you have damage to the skin, what you need to do is help boost your skin to repair the damage. I feel like so many of the products I use for my congestion are about clearing my skin but not repairing the damage that is done.

This wonder product contain vitamin B and C and I mentioned recently that to even complexion and especially to get rid of dark circles or "troughs" as they are called then you need Vitamin C! It also contains a wonder ingredient beta-glucan B6 yeast wall extract to give your skin maximum recovery. Because of all these wonderful "active" ingredients when you check the glass bottle to see how long til it expires it says 3M which means 3 months, if you use it everyday like I have been then yes it lasts 3 months.

I apply this serum after cleansing on clean skin and gently rub all over my face and it feels lovely, the consistency is clear gel and has no smell, it is really quickly and easily absorbed and does not leave my skin feeling dry at all- yay!

I think you should try this if you have ageing skin or acne prone skin or recently had acne prone skin, actually I think you should all give it a go.

What I have noticed is when I do get spots they now clear up so much faster and def don't leave the kinds of marks they used to so I really love it and think it is worth the price but then again I give more cudos to skincare then I do pretty much all else, I am detirmined to have clear skin!

You can find DMK: From selected paramedical clinics or visit their website here

So what do you think, have you tried DMK before?

Would you try this serum?

Fantastic Serum for only $9.95?? Get out of town!!

The content of this post is actually from my parents well mainly my dad. My dad has been going on and on about how badly he thinks I should write about it as it really is that amazing.
The serum I am talking about is from, wait for it.... Aldi! Yep, for $9.95 you can get the Lacura Face Care Aqua Complete Multi Intensive Serum
This serum is a cream gel and smells like shampoo which I don't all together mind and my dad says the smell goes away quite quickly.
Both my parents said it feels really soothing on your skin and feels cool and light.
One thing they loved is that it is easily absorbed and it just dissapears into the skin not leaving a heavy residue yet still feeling great on their skin.
What was the biggest surprise to them both was that it really reduced their wrinkles, especially around the eyes. My dad especially will not stop going on about how smooth it made his skin and how his wrinkles are gone. My dad says it is suitable for after shaving which means its gentle.
The scent is suitable for both men and women and suits all skin types.
My parents have used many different great brands and yet this is the one they love? It sounds so strange and due to the ridiculously low price point they can really enjoy using it and not feel like they have be scarce with it like they would a really expensive cream.

With this low price point I really think you should try it out for yourself, what have you got to lose?

You can find this little wonder product:  From Aldi Stores nationally.

Honestly, gives this one a try, it is such a little wonder product!

What is your cheapie wonder?

Would you consider trying this product?

Preventing Anti-ageing and reduce Acne scars with this product

Let me introduce you to the most luxurious product I have ever tried and the one which coincidently has had the greatest visible effect on me... ever!

The product is Babor’s new HSR de LUXE Ultimate Anti-aging Serum-$330. I recently was lucky enough to go to the launch of their new anti-ageing line and learnt just how much science and research goes into these products and this brand.

Babor states “HSR Telovitin delays skin aging by stabilizing the tips of the chromosomes, which are essential for cell division. This greatly extends the life cycle of skin cells and thus significantly slows down skin aging. At the same time, the effective active lifting ingredients in the HSR Lifting Integral Complex reduce wrinkles visibly and continuously, resulting in smoother, firmer looking skin”.

At the launch I was introduced to the line of anti-ageing creams which although sounds amazing are way too rich for my youngish skin. What is great for my skin is this serum. This serum as well as being anti-ageing is preventive anti-ageing which is what I am all about right now.

I have been using this serum of a night time (I was using it morning and night but with $330 a pop I was going through it way too quickly) and when you apply it, you only need a tiny amount as it spreads really far and I apply it to my face and neck and also importantly my chest. What is important with this serum is to not rub it in too much and just make sure it is covered on your skin.

After using the serum for a month now the remaining acne scarring on my skin on my cheeks has almost completely gone and the texture of my skin has dramatically improved. I honestly can’t believe how amazing my skin looks and feel, I feel like I understand how celebrities have that amazingly smooth, perfect skin, and they use these kinds of products. Gosh if I could bathe in this stuff I would.

I have had so many compliments on the appearance on my skin and this is the product I have to thank for it.

I know this product is ridonkulously expensive and way out of so many peoples price range but I feel like I got the same effects from months’ worth of Omnilux treatments from one bottle, so really it is up to you. I just want you to know that there are products out there that really deliver and Babor has lived up to their hype as being the science behind beauty.

What is the most luxurious product you have ever used?
Would you consider spending this much on a product when you know it works?
