Coming Soon: OPI Pirates of the Carribean 4 Lacquer Collection!!

I am pleased to announce the NEW range of OPI is for Pirates of the Carribean 4 and is due to hit our shores on the 1st May in line with the movies launch.
Like the Burlesque range this range is sure to cause a splash (sea reference getit)!! There will be 6 nail lacquers.

The Top Row: Silver Shatter, Mermaid Tears, Planks A Lot
Bottom Row: Sparrow me the Drama, Steady as she Rose, Stranger Tides, Skull and Crossbones.

I am so excited for this range as all the colours look wonderful. Such beautiful creamy, oceanic shades. The other exciting news is it features a SILVER SHATTER. OMG, OMG, OMG... I need this in my life! The names are, as usual perfectly hilarious and completely fitting with the theme. Stranger Tides and Skull and Crossbones I think will be first on my list. Oh the colours are just divine and are completely wearable for everyday.

As soon as these come out I will be purchasing my favourites to swatch for you!

Until then...

Review: Smashbox In Bloom Limitless Long Wear Lip Gloss SPF 15

I recently received this beautiful Lip gloss which I was really keen to share with you all. The Lip Gloss is by Smashbox from the NEW In Bloom range of Limitless Long Wear Lip Gloss SPF 15-$29.95. I had not tried a Smashbox lip gloss before so I was keen to see how they measured up. The colour I have "Timeless" truly is that, simple and classic. The colour is slighty pink and musk with a faint shimmer which is perfect for day to night.

Finally getting the macro lense on my point and shoot camera to work means I can actually show you what the brush of the lip gloss looks like as this is incredibly helpful. The brush is angled making it easy to apply the gloss and with a faint vanilla scent it is a pleasure to wear.

Once applied the gloss lasts for hours like it states and maintains its beautiful glossy finish.

The gloss contains SPF 15 which makes it perfect for a day out. I find this gloss is beautiful as is on bare lips or applied over lipstick to add a gloss finish.

The picture below is on bare lips.

You can find Smashbox: at Kit Cosmetics which you can find instore (to view their in store locations click here) or online at http://www.kitcosmetics.com.au/

This is how you get soft skin: Review of Burt's Bees Sugar Scrub

I have been bursting to tell you about this product!!! This is the brand spanking new Burt's Bees Cranberry & Pomegrante Sugar Scrub-$29.95.
When you lift the lid on this winner you are consumed by the sweet, sweet aroma of the Cranberry and Pomegrantes. When you peek inside you can actually see the seeds and the sugar granules. This scrub also containing shea butter for long lasting smoothness.

To Apply: There has been mixed reports as to how you apply it either onto wet or dry skin and with what. What I do is dampen my skin in the shower then turn the shower off. With my fingers I apply the scrub from my toes up, with each body section. I apply the scrub in circular motions bring that circulation towards my heart. This is the similar way that you would dry body brush. I find this is the best way as you need that moisture to get better contact on your skin and you don't want too much or it will just wash it all away.

When I washed off the scrub my skin is beyond smooth. I could feel the shea butter which has left a light residue onto my skin which I can tell is going to make the smoothness last on my skin. After I got out of the shower and dried my skin not only did it smell amazing but the silky smoothness, oh my gosh I can't even explain it to you. I barely even needed to apply moisturiser after but I did as it is good to lock in that mositure and you have just given your skin a massive work out and did I mention the smell? I honesltly looked at the tub thinking... could I eat that? Only to read "not to be consumed" obviously I am not the first person to think this stuff looked good enough to eat!

The next day my skin was still baby smooth and I know this is going to be a regular purchase for me.

I will continue to use this product once a week for a good body shake up and to get really get the blood pumping and my skin oh so smooth.

You can find this product: at David Jones, Priceline and selected pharmacies.

Yum!!

Follow Friday-Great Blog Posts of the Week

I decided to create a new segement which will be on Fridays called Follow Friday. I do this on Fridays on Twitter (you can follow me @miss_chew) like many twitter peeps (tweeps) but I thought I would actually let you lovely readers know about articles which I found really interesting, or really inspiring or just made me want to buy stuff!

First off we have Stef at The Lip Print who was lucky enough to get invited to the MYER show by Illamasqua and was able to find out how they created those amazing catwalk looks.

The next post is from Niki from Bella Mumma there are always daily inspirational posts and beautiful images but the post that really caught my attention was on on about getting good skin from within.

Celina from Fables in Fashion who reviewed and swatched Bobbi Brown Pretty Powerful Palette. I have been hanging out to see how this palette looks and get it for myself. I thought the colours were just amazing and now I want it even more!!

Kimmy from The Plastic Diaries reviewed Schick Quattro For Women Trim Style which really intrigued me. I had never tried anything like this and the price really isn't as expensive as I would have thought and as an alternate hair removal I think I will give it a go.

Elise from The Nail File swatched the new Australis Limited Edition Autumn Colours the number one is just divine, like a dark grown up purple which I can see as being a staple in my nail collection.

Chelle from Cosmetic Cupcake did a swatch of a holographic nail polish which is just stunning and I really want to try one for myself! Nails of the future!

Jessica from Belle Lumiere posted about a MOR Honey Nectar Hand and Body Lotion which smells so yummy. MOR products to me are just so luxurious and are my ultimate "show off when you have guests over" products so this is next on my list.

The gorgeous Cherie from Ms Critique is FINALLY back and has posted all about her New York trip, making us all really jealous. It is so great to hear from her!!

Last but not least Jen from My Funny Valentine has done a great post on sunscreen education and really lays it all out there as to what UVA and UVB rays mean, how they differ and why you need to make sure you protect yourself properly.

I hope you get just as much enjoyment out of these posts as I have.

Until next week.

REVIEW: NEW OPI TEXAS Nail Lacquer Collection

OPI really are the leaders when it comes to nail lacquers, they never cease to bring a rock em sock em collection. The latest is the Texas collection and I absolutely love them. I have been tossing up ever since they come out as to which colours to choose.
It was a tough decision as the colours are divine but I was thinking about Winter. I chose "Suzi Loves Cowboys" and "It's Totally Fort Worth It". Like always the names are both hilarious and extremely clever!

First up is "It's Totally Fort Worth It".This colour is just beautiful. It is like a more grown up sophisticated silver. The colour has a tiny pink shimmer in it and I think this will be a great colour for Winter. You need 3 coats to get a thick full colour finish as it can be quite transparent.
The second polish is my favourite "Suzi Loves Cowboys" I absolutely LOVE this colour! Oh my goodness, it is described as a chocolate brown but to me this must be friggin dark chocolate as it is ust off black but that is what I love about it. Unlike black which can be harsh sometimes for work for example this colour is softer. The other part I love about this colour is my god it is shiny, even without a top coat.

I know that with Winter coming (eek) like the clothes that we wear so too will the colours I paint my nails change to reflect the weather. I know that this winter thanks to all the runway catwalk predictions it will all be about nudes, browns, greys and khaki colours which my poor nail lacquer collection lacks in (I try and tell my boyfriend that this is the excuse to buy more colours-I don't think he believes me. "But babe I don't have a light brown that isn't too pinkie or not too dark"). I don't think he understand the importance. At least I paint my nails often enough to actually get some use out of my colours...

You can find OPI: At salons, online or my fave which is David Jones which has the full collection, omg I love it!
Price: $19.95 each

Have you bought any from the Texas Collection? What ones are on your wish list?

How to get a Matte Finish on your Nails

I have read a few blogs about the trends on having a matte finish to your nails. I thought it could make my nails have a more sophisticated finish.
For this example I chose an Australis Nail Polish called "Pleased as Punch". Just a side note I love how the Australis nail polishes are against animal testing! Always happy to support a brand that is so against animal testing.
This colour didn't come up very well as it is a really bright purple, think Grimace off Sesame St if you catch my drift. This is a great formular and dries really quickly.
Next, once it has dried you apply the Top Coat, for this I applied Rimmel LONDON Lycra Pro Matte Finish-$9.95, within seconds of it drying the finish becomes really matte which I find as fascinating as watching crackle polish.
What do you think? It really changes the polish don't you think? The only complaint I have is that it only looks really, really good matte for one day, the second day is starts to not look as Matte and becomes a bit shiny.

You can find Rimmel: at Priceline and other chemists and department stores.

Why Jess Hart is the perfect Model for MYER!

If you like me and keep up to date with everything that happens out in the world by being on Twitter (and you can follow me @miss_chew) I have been following the gorgeous Jessica Hart (@1JessicaHart ) who I am all sure you have heard of. Tonight she is headlining the catwalk at the new MYER season launch in Melbourne. I saw this pic she posted on Twitter and I was absolutely blown away!
Look at her, isn't she gorgeous?
She absolutely glows! I love the shape of champagne glass she is sipping of, I have some of these at home which I got from a vintage shop and are so much fun when you have girlfriends over for some drinks (or is that just me?).
Her curls are absolute perfection! Her nails are gold which makes me so curious to see the looks she will be rocking on the runway.
She has gone for the classic look which I mentioned in my blog yesterday about the Oscars which you can view here. She has done thick black liner on her eyelids and then a very simple bare eye underneath which gives her a polished vintage look. Her brows are well defined and her lips are a glossy pink. I cannot descibe to you just how much I LOVE this look!

I love seeing a look which inspires me, this makes me want to look after my skin more, it makes me want to go with a vintage feel and makes me want to try something different.

I look at her and think that MYER really made a great choice and I am sure she will rock it tonight!

Review: L'Oreal Paris Hair Expertise Ever Pure Shampoo & Conditioner

I have recently been reviewing the new L'Oreal Paris Hair Expertise Ever Pure Shampoo & Conditioner-$14 each and I have been very impressed. I have never used L'Oreal hair products before and I was sceptical as this just wasn't a brand I had either heard about doing good or bad hair products and to me just wasn't a brand that was on my radar.

That being said in the spirit of being a good blogger and open to suggestions and new expierences I gave these a try. I was drawn to the fact that they are sulfate free and suitable for vegans, love that!

The product I have been using is for coloured hair and is designed to not only protect your colour but also to smooth your hair. When I used the products the shampoo lathered well and the condititioner smells of mint, this is quite an unusal scent from a hair care product but I find it refreshing. When I rinsed it out I could already feel the softness in my hair. Oh my gosh the softness, wow, I normally would never get this kind of softness from a product this, well, cheap actually. I would normally only get these results from a salon brand. 2 days later and I am still stroking my hair like its a ridiculously soft bunny or some other kind of soft pet... I know that may sound weird but you haven't felt my hair.

My hair is also very smooth and doesn't seem as fly away either. My hair smells so nice and clean too.

I will definetly be using these products again.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I have.
