Trilogy Everything Balm and I mean EVERYTHING!

I have had this little baby in my handbag for a long time which I think is a huge secret which everyone should know about, what am I referring to? Well thanks for asking, its Trilogy Everything Balm- $18 for 45ml.

This little baby has so many different uses and I keep thinking of more. This balm can soothe and heal your skin whether it is your lips, or cracked skin from on your hands to your heels. It does this through all its amazing ingredients. It contains antioxidant-rich Certified Organic Marula Oil and Certified Organic Rosehip Oil and we all know how amazing Rosehip Oil is (if you don't, you should know not only is it great at nourishing your skin but it also is great at making fine lines on your face magically disappear!) as well as Jojoba, Olive, Avocado, Honey and Vitamin E to deeply nourish and look after your skin.
Carrying it in your handbag means you are never left without beautiful, soft skin.

The smell is amazing, really natural which I really love.

You can buy Trilogy Products- online at stores like http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/ and  store now at Priceline, Myer and selected pharmacies.

Tousle me, touch me, sexy smelling hair!

The Entire Tousle Me Softly Range
I am all for things that smell amazing so when I was given this new tousle me softly range I was blown away by how amazing they all smell! Sex Hair, totally sex hair! With tones of wild violet and pomegranate (the scent de jour right now) I just can't get enough of it! I thought the Herbal Essence range called Colour Me Happy smelt amazing, but this is so much better!

This range was designed to help imperfect hair be beautiful, to assist hair become wavier, sexier then ever before, and gosh golly does it make my hair soft and silky! When I know I am going to be curling my hair to go out in the night or even during the day, I like to prep my hair the day/ night before to help my hair hold the curls.

This range Left from right is:
-Tousle Me Softly Touchably Soft Shampoo and Conditioner
-Tousle Me Softly Mousse
-Tousle Me Softly Flexible Hold Hairspray
-Tousle Me Softly Tousling Spray Gel

Rather then using a curling iron which I do sometimes do I have another way I like to curl my hair and I have pictures to show you the result too.

In the night before I wash my hair with the Tousle Me Softly Shampoo and Conditioner and whilst hair is still wet I apply a generous amount of Tousle Me Softly Mousse to allow my hair to have some grit the next day and to hold the style.

Then I seperate my hair into down the middle into 2 sides and pull the hair up in 2 tight buns (a la Sailor Moon) (IF I want to go even crazier I can do multiple buns which has tighter curls) and off I pop to sleep. Yes my hair is still wet.

The next morning when I wake up I unravel the buns and gently separate the waves. This is where I spray the Tousle Me Softly Tousling Spray Gel which helps to set the waves and really brings out that amazing smell again.

I then made a deeper side part and once content I finished off with the Tousle Me Softly Flexible Hold Hairspray which doesn't feel to stiff either.

The end result is below:
My Hair in the morning
This next picture is taken when I came home from work in the evening to show you how it holds through a full day of work. My makeup is a little worse for wear though so I apologise...
My hair and makeup in the night time almost 12 hours later....
What these products encourage you to do is to mess up your hair and play with it, scrunch it, the messier the better and with all that confidence from having sexy hair, with it smelling great as well, you will be hot to trot with this range of hair products!

My 100th Post! Chic Makeup Competition!!

So guys, I am so happy to say that this is my 100th Blog post on miss chew and to thank you for the support I am lucky enough to announce my

First Competition!!

Before we get to that I want to tell you about the wonderful product I have currently been trialing which you will be able to win.

The brand is called Chic Australia and was the work behind Lois Yaghoubour who has her own salon as well as being a makeup artist.

When you talk about this product it's not so much what it does but what it doesn't do. Below is one of the 2 colours I have called Waratahstar which is a bronze colour with a copper shade with subtle shimmer.

But first, the initially selling point for me was that it is baked on a terracotta tile which means that unlike other bronzers or blush say, when you drop it, it won't break! Massive bonus! How many bloody bronzers I have broken and wasted money on because I am too clumsy for words! It also means it really lasts as well.

Next is the beautiful arrange of colours, all subtly different from each other. When you look at the compact you can see a faint shimmer and almost slightly different colours which reflect from the light.

I chose 2 different shades. One is more of a bronzer and the other has a peachy tinge.

This product is designed to have 7 different uses, each as amazing as each other, which I will detail now:
  1. Bronzer
  2. Blush
  3. Contouring
  4. Eye shadow
  5. Lip Colour
  6. Eye liner
  7. Highlighter
What I use it most for is as a contouring powder to really emphasize my cheekbones. It was explained to me that when you are applying the makeup either to contour or as blush/ bronzer you really need to work the product into your skin warming the product which will make it last all day.

To use it as a eyeliner you wet a brush before working into the compact and applying it to the eyes to give yourself bolder colour.

As a highlighter I like to use it on the top of my cheekbones and also on my eyebrow bone.
For me I find this product just so incredibly handy, I can pop it in my handbag and I can do touch ups of so many parts of my makeup through out the day.

The RRP for the compact is $49.95 and considering all the uses its a bargain.

You can buy online at www.chicaustralia.com.au or in selected salons.

So I am lucky enough to be able to give one of these lovely compacts away.

To go in the running you need to
  • "Like" my miss chew facebook page and suggest to 10 friends, which you can view here.
  • Once suggested just comment on my facebook wall.
  • Answer my question in the comments below in my blog "Which feature are you most looking forward to trying with your new Chic Australia Makeup?" with your email address and that's it!
  • Note: Only one entry per person but feel free to suggest to as many friends as you would like.
Competition closes on 11:59pm Monday 15th November 2010.

Winner will be notified by email (so don't forget) and also with a blog post!

Competition is only available to persons living in Australia. Sorry Guys.

Good Luck!

Ruby Rose unveils her new look at the ARIA's...

I don't know if you guys tuned into the ARIA's but the one look that caught my attention more than any other was Ruby Rose's new look........wow!
I have been a fan of Miss Rose's for a long time as I met her once last year and was blown away by how beautiful she is in person. She is such a chameleon and each drastic look she done she has pulled off which such grace and sex appeal it's always amazing to see what she will think of next.
This new look I think is almost a new favourite. She was channelling Joan Jett which she was stylising this look but instead of thinking rock punk I think of something that is much more feminine and softer for her.
The eyeshadow playing matchy matchy with the dress is beautiful as well.
I absolutely love purple and I love that Ruby has gone a slightly different route and played the purple heavily under the eye.
She has also lined the lower eyelid with a black liner as well which accentuates the purple and giving the eye a purple smokey look. She has also gone for a pink blush and a ]light pink lip which helps to soften the look of the dramatic eye. This is one of those rules that you need to stick with, that you either go for a statement eye or a statement lip and not 2 at once.
Even though the hair is Joan Jett I think its a beautiful change and something I hope she continues with.

What you need for Christmas is a Clarisonic PRO!

Recently I was lucky enough to be given a Clarisonic PRO to try which I was really excited to do as I had heard so many amazing reviews about it and was keen to see if I shared a similar opinion. From Dermatologists to skin therapists these guys are not only using it in their clinics but they are also recommending it to their clients for at home use.

The Clarisonic PRO comes with a body brush and cleansers as well as the normal/sensitive  brush head, everything you need to get you started.

So when I received the Clarisonic PRO the first thing I noticed when I read the instructions was that before you are allowed to play with it you must first charge it for 24hours... boo! I hate that when you have a new toy you want to play with and you are not allowed to.
Moving along... Once charged it honestly couldn't be easier.

How best to describe it? Well it's like a large vibrating tooth brush which cleans your skin more effectively then ever before.
All you need to do is wet your face with warm water and apply a preferably gel cleanser to your face just lightly over to coat it all. Then you wash your Clarisonic under warm water and turn it on. Straight away it will start vibrating away and you hold it to your forehead to begin.

It has 4 speed settings to cater to your needs.

Tips to remember: When you applying the brush to your face you use small circular motions.

After each section is completed and the time is up it will beep and stop briefly.

Another awesome fact about the Clarisonic is that it is timed so that you spend the exact right time on each part of your face, as follows:

1. First you apply it to your forehead for 20 seconds.
2. Second you apply it to your nose and around your mouth and chin for 20 seconds.
3. Third you apply it to one cheek all over and I also do under my jaw along the side as I find I often get problems around there for 10 seconds.
4. Forth apply to the other cheek for 10 seconds and before you know it you will be done.

Why I love it!
-It is waterproof so I am loving using it in the shower, anything that cuts down the time I take to get ready, especially in the morning is a winner for me.
-It claims to remove 6 x the amount of makeup that you would ordinarily remove and you know what, I believe it!
-When I used a makeup remover wipe and then used the Clarisonic PRO at the end the brush was really dirty which literally made me sit back in awe at the level of crap that must remain on my face at the end of each day.
-Because your skin in so clean it means that products that you use will be absorbed that much more effectively into your skin.
-You can also buy a body brush which is larger to cover a larger area which would be great as prepartion for fake tan as it would really effectively remove dead skin cells.

They recommend you remove any eye makeup first before you use the Clarisonic.

The price can be a bit off putting as it has a RRP of $389 but for me I have found it has completely revolutionised the way I clean my skin. No longer does rubbing a cleanser into my skin feel like it is doing enough.

There are also the Clarisonic range of Cleansers (see below) that cater to your need.

I really like the Blue one which is for oily and congested skin and has a gel consistency which as I said before is perfect for Clarisonic.
The battery will last ages (approx 2 weeks) and honestly I think this is an investment into your skin.

You can buy it (the PRO): through skin care professionals.

Price: RRP of $389

The Clarisonic Classic (which has 2 speed settings $329) and Clarisonic Plus (which has 3 speed settings $339) are available through David Jone's and Myer.

To find out more information: see the Clarisonic website here.

When in doubt ask Santa, parents, partner for Christmas!

Short & Sweet- Tips for soft, kissable lips

If you are a big lipstick wearer or big fan of the kisses then you would know how important it is to have soft, luscious lips!
What I do is once or twice a week or if they are feeling dry when I clean my teeth, once I am all done I use my toothbrush to gently rub over my lips to remove any dead skin cells which makes them feel a little tingly and then rinse them!
Once I have done I apply a moisturising lip balm I am loving Burt's Bees Replenishing Lip Balm with Pomegranate Oil which I recently posted a blog about here, and Voila! Soft, kissable lips!
Trust me, your boyfriend/ lover will thank you!

Repairing my nails and looking pretty all at once!

My poor nails are deep in recovery mode from having acrylic nails on them all year and so I am working hard at rebuilding them and making them stronger.
I have employed a whole host of products to take on this task.
My base coat I have been using to strengthen my nails is by Manicare called Gentle Hardener (See below) I apply this every time I paint my nails.

This nail polish pictured on my nails by Sally Hansen is called Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear in First Blush, not only is a great colour but also further strengthens my nails.

The only thing about this colour is that I have to apply 3 coats to make sure it isn't see through but that's ok, I still really like it.

On Top of my nail polish I have been using Sally Hansen Inst-dry Fast Dry Nail Colour. See picture below. What I really like about this product, other than it makes my colours dry really fast so less chances of mistakes, but it has a huge brush, making application quick and easy.

These products were all bought at Priceline.

Scunci gets a makeover with a new range of hair accessories!

Scunci has had a HUGE makeover with a new range of hair ties, hair bands and clips to cater to your every need. I am going through a growing out fringe phase and so I have been employing anything I can get my hands on to help me through.

What I loved in particular about their range is their non-slip hair ties.
I go through hair ties like they are going out of fashion and these babies they really strong with no metal clips to pull out your hair. When I put my hair up in a pony tail or top knot it holds in place all day. They don't break and when you look closely you can see the grip which works wonders.

Seriously for girls with long hair, look to getting these the next time you are in the supermarket/Priceline/chemist!

To achieve this ponytail look I gathered my hair from the sides to put it up into a pony rather then pulling the hair from the top which can make your hair flat and kept the growing out fringe out to frame my face. Once in a pony tail I pulled some of the hair from the top just out of the pony tail to give me some height (to achieve even more height you can actually tease this section prior to popping up in a ponytail) then lightly spray over with hairspray to hold.

Here are the scunci's below in their pack.
Next on my list to try is their range of headbands the one pictured below is tortishell and blends with my hair really well. What is great about these headbands and I wish I had taken a photo of, is at each end of the hair bands is a rubber section which grips into your hair and also won't hurt your head after wearing it all day- this is a problem I sometimes face where I get really bad headaches after a few hours. Not with these babies!
The one pictured below is perfect for when you want a more polished look.

See the black 2 toned headband shiny/matt

Close up of the 2 Tones
They also have thick headbands made of fabric which are perfect for when you are cleansing your face or applying makeup.

The last on my list was their bobby pins which have a different take on the traditional bobby pins which you can see they have little grips on there which make sure they hold your hair in place all day. They also come in a variety of colours to match your hair colour too.
It was really hard to capture but you can just see the little grips
The products range in price but are all really affordable.

Next time you are looking for solutions to your hair issues, you should definitley give these a try.

To find out more you can view the full range here.
