Schwarzkopf Extra Care Ultimate Repair Range

Hey lovelies, I just wanted to apologise for my absense lately. I normally blog 5 days a week and lately I have been really slack. I have had a lot going on in my life with a friend of mine passing away and work being really stressful, coupled with having to look for a new place to live has been been really hard and I know blogging has been taking a step back. Now that I have found a place I now have to begin packing. I have so much blogging to catch up on and I really want to tell you all about the amazing products I have been using but I just haven't had the time. Sorry guys, I will really try and start making more time for you.

Today I want to talk to you about one of the newest ranges from Schwarzkopf Extra Care range called Ultimate Repair Range. I have been using the Shampoo and Conditioner for weeks now and finally have gotten around to telling you all about it. What makes this Shampoo and Conditioner pretty darn amazing in my books is the liquid keratin which helps to repair hair damage caused by such things are bleaching your hair and heat styling both of which I can really torture my hair with and I know my long strands really need the extra TLC. The Keratin also helps fill in the gaps in your hair cuticle. I know and you should know too that when you heat style your hair such as straightening and curling you should use a heat styling product to protect your hair, but how many of us do this everytime? I know I really don't (bad blogger) these guys help to repair that damage that has been done.
I have found that these products to me have a slight smell of chocolate! Noms! And my hair really does eat it all up! Since I have been using this range my hair feels really soft and really shines, which I always think is a sign of healthy hair.

I haven't tried the treatments yet but they are high on my list.

Please let me know if you tried these guys, what did you think?

Hero Beauty Products Whilst in Thailand

OK guys I swear this will be (most probably) my last post about Thailand. I thought you would find this interesting though. I wanted to give you a little insight into what were the HERO products that I used religiously whilst I spent 10 glorious days in Thailand.

The first product is by Sunfx Body Wash $10.95, as I was fake tanned throughout the entire trip it was really important to use a body wash specific for when you are fake tanning. When you are on a tropical holiday the chlorine and salt water alone can fade your tan so the last thing you want is your soap to do the same as well. What I particularily LOVED about this product is that it smells of coconuts which was perfect for the amazing holiday I had, an absolute must for Summer.

The next product I was loving was the KMS California Sol Perfection All Day Defense Protection 24 hour. This product will also be a fave in the coming Summer as it is like sunscreen for your hair. We are all getting better at applying sunscreen to our bodies and our faces but I think a lot of us forget about our hair. This product couldn't be easier to use, I sprayed it on my hair first thing before hopping out into the sun whether my hair was wet or dry as I knew I would be swimming and the like so it wouldn't matter. It is also great to help detangle your hair and contains wonder ingredients such as grapefruit and thyme.

The next product I want to mention is the Shampoo and Conditioner I was using the L'Oreal Professional Expert Shine Blonde Ceraflash -$25. As any fellow blondes will know (as I have recently got ballayage in my hair I put myself in this category) you need to protect it. Chlorine and sun damage can totally change the colour you originally wanted. What my amazing hairdresser recommended was getting a silver shampoo. The silver shampoo neutralise the brasiness which can occur and prevents it from fading. The "silver" shampoo is actually purple colour and I really enjoyed using both whilst I was away. The bottles are quite small and are expensive and are $25 each it worked well for me when I was travelling as I didn't want to take big bottles away but I might not buy again until Summer when I need that protection again.

There are a lot more products I want to talk about but I like them so much I think they deserve their own posts.

Have you tried any of these products before?

Winter Hair Care with Wella Professional

In the coming days I will be diving head first into Holiday posts woohoo which I am hoping will be one of those bookmark and keep kinds of posts and I know I personally love seeing what stuff bloggers take away when they go on hols as I know that is stuff they really love.

But right now I am dealing with Winter and my poor long hair which is so in desperate need of a cut (which is happening on Saturday FYI) needs some nourishment and protection. As I always wear my hair out, it battles wind, sun, cold and rain on a daily basis and quite often all in one day and never more so then in Winter.

I have been using the new Wella System Professional Hydrate Shampoo and Repair Conditioner-$32 each for ages now and by looking at my hair (apart from my terrible regrowth) you would think my hair was in the best condition in its life! These shampoo and conditioners not only smell amazing but they really nourish my hair from the inside out.

The shampoo is perfect to boost moisture back into your hair whilst the conditioner helps to repair the damage done by these terrible elements that we battle out in the environment. Since using these products my hair feels soft and the small amount of flyaways I sometimes get are gone just leaving wonderful glossy hair.

In Winter we change our skincare to match the change of seasons so we should also change our haircare and these products really have been amazing.

The only downside for me is the bottles are really not that big and with my long hair they do not last that long for the price. The results that I get though are worth it.

You can find these products: From selected salons or check out their website here.

So what precautions are you taking for Winter hair care?

Caviar for your hair? Yup I am completely serious and it is amazing!

Hair that is soft to touch and has no breakages is really a huge goal for me and a on going struggle. I really feel like I give my hair hell sometimes, between colouring, sweat and trying a gazillion products all the time, it really gets a beating.
At the end of last year I took myself off to a day spa (I know a little posh I know) and I was lucky enough to get treated to a treatment and wash and blow dry with the (then) brand new range from Alterna which contains Caviar and is a anti-ageing range.

The range contain no Sulfates, no Parabens, no Paraffin, no animal testing and the list goes on...Basically know your hair is in the best hands.

Now I know in the past I have spoken of great budget shampoos but this is really the creme de la creme and you pay for it. The Shampoo and Conditioner retail for just under $40 although the day spa I went to tried to get me to buy them for $49 each hmmm... that is a different story, but let's not go there.

When I used these products my hair was transformed to softer hair than a baby, yep I went there, it makes your hair that soft. I was like a kid patting a kitten...

The reason it does this is because it contains Seasilk which nourishes and hydrates your hair. The Omega-3 Caviar Extract restores vitality to your damaged hair and helps you to regain the strength and softness of your youth. Not only will your hair be super soft and feel amazing but it will be so shiny due to it's renewed appearance.

I honestly think they are worth the price and make a huge difference to your hair.

I know I haven't looked back!

Review: L'Oreal Paris Hair Expertise Ever Pure Shampoo & Conditioner

I have recently been reviewing the new L'Oreal Paris Hair Expertise Ever Pure Shampoo & Conditioner-$14 each and I have been very impressed. I have never used L'Oreal hair products before and I was sceptical as this just wasn't a brand I had either heard about doing good or bad hair products and to me just wasn't a brand that was on my radar.

That being said in the spirit of being a good blogger and open to suggestions and new expierences I gave these a try. I was drawn to the fact that they are sulfate free and suitable for vegans, love that!

The product I have been using is for coloured hair and is designed to not only protect your colour but also to smooth your hair. When I used the products the shampoo lathered well and the condititioner smells of mint, this is quite an unusal scent from a hair care product but I find it refreshing. When I rinsed it out I could already feel the softness in my hair. Oh my gosh the softness, wow, I normally would never get this kind of softness from a product this, well, cheap actually. I would normally only get these results from a salon brand. 2 days later and I am still stroking my hair like its a ridiculously soft bunny or some other kind of soft pet... I know that may sound weird but you haven't felt my hair.

My hair is also very smooth and doesn't seem as fly away either. My hair smells so nice and clean too.

I will definetly be using these products again.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I have.

INTERVIEW with David Babaii for WildAid!

I recently was lucky enough to meet the legendary David Babaii hairdresser to the stars who considers Hollywood A-Listers such as Kate Hudsen, Scarlett Johansson, Nicole Kidman and so many more as his clients and friends. I heard that he was in Australia to do Nicole Kidmans hair for Oprah! Hard life!

I got the opportunity to meet him in person and was just dying to ask him a million questions!
He gave a talk to start with and spoke about hair trends that we could look out for.
He said that the trends we would all be wanting were soft bohemian hair, gone are the perfect ghd curls to make way for brushed out curls.

Here are some of the questions I was lucky enough to ask:

What are the trends for hair colour?: More of a darker colour, I took Nicole (Kidman) back to a redder colour, I like a little bit more depth in colour so if it's blonde it's not platnium, like what you have got going on, I like. (oh thanks!) If you do something it's to a minimal amount. With all my girls I like to bring it back down a bit like with Kate (Hudsen) I brought her hair back down a bit so she's not too platnium blonde with Scarlett (Johansson) I brought her back down but that's just for now, with Summer that might change, you want more of a sunkissed kind of a feeling.

What has been your biggest career challenge?:
Developing this line, making this line was really challenging, I worked on this line for 3 maybe 4 years. I have these items out in the range but I have another 47 items waiting to come out. I could have brought them out faster if I didn't care. I want to make sure that everything is just right.

I have used your shampoo before and really liked it.
A little tip, you should use the hydrating shampoo and the voluminsing together, its a little trick I use.

How do you come up with the ingredients?
We met with so many different people and labs, I wanted stuff that was exotic, I love exotic. I love to know that in this bottle is something that was found in Uganda or I have this new algae that comes from this island in Africa. I want those ingredients that no one has.

Normally when you see the back of a bottle there are all these chemicals which I have no idea what they are so I have no idea what I am putting onto my hair.
I have this new one coming out which is Betani (I probably spelt it wrong, sorry) Clay from deep down in the ocean from the volcano and that's what I am using for deep conditioner, it is amazing for the hair.

What advice would you give to women to looking after their hair?:
I think it's important to wash your hair, I think it is so important to rinse really well. The other thing is to take pre-natal vitamins, all my clients are on them, I don't know if you guys have them here, it gives you the nutrients you need, you need to make sure you are taking care of your hair from the inside not just the outside. (I think taking that advice on board is so important, I use shampoo and conditioners every 2 days and If I don't rinse well I would get a lot of build up in my hair making it greasier faster and wouldn't give my hair the kind of volume I like as the product would drag it down.)

How does looking after your hair change as you age?:
You have to do more, I think that with age you need to have different things to maintain it. If you over bleach your hair, over process your hair you will pay for it later. It is so important to take great care of your hair now whilst your young.

Since meeting with the fabulous David Babaii I have been trying some of his products I have been hanging to tell you all about.

1. Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner -$22.95 each.

I loved these from the moment I opened the lid as they smell like a tropical cocktail. It smells like pineapple, mmmm pina colada. It has, get this, rich cucupuacu butter, blue algae and wild orchid to really, deeply hyrdate your hair. The conditioner is just as amazing and my hair feels so soft, silky and smells divine.

The other product I have been loving is the Hair Polish -$26.50. This is quite the little best kept secret, honestly I am in love!
It contains amazing ingredients as always such as exclusive blend of ten natural extracts, including Nettle, Orchid, Oat, Cucumber and White Ginger. This product can de-frizz your hair, make it shiny, smooth, it hydrates your hair, gosh it's a hard worker!
You can use it either on wet or dry hair and wow, talk about a shine factor! If you are going to be heat styling your hair this product is great to use before hand as it protects your hair against the damages of using your beloved GHD.

The last great thing about David Babaii for Wildaid products: All procucts are free of Sulfates, Parabeens, Petrochemicals. They are against animal testing. They also donate 10% of proceeds to WildAid the global wildlife conservation organisation. You can find out more by visitng http://www.wildaid.org/

To find out more about the products: You can visit his website http://www.db4wildaid.com.au/

You can find these products: At Priceline nationally. Love that!

I hope you love them too!

Terax Shampoo and Conditioner, where have you been hiding?

The Terax haircare brand has been around along time as a leader in hair care and in my opinion has cult status. I have always been the kind of person where if there is a product everyone always talks about I have to try it! (I am the same with movies) I guess I just don't like the thought of not being able to put my two cents in... haha
Back to reason behind this post... I was able to finally try 2 of the products the Latte Clarifying Shampoo- $24.95 and what I consider to be their Hero product the Crema Condititioner-$29.95.
Let me start by saying I have always (pretty much) used the Priceline goodies from the likes of Herbal Essence, Sunsilk, the cheaper end hair care (not that there is anything wrong with it) but I have never really understood how someone could spend so much on hair care.
When I used the Shampoo the first thing I noticed was it smells like coconut liqueur... not the usual floral fragrance I am used to but I pushed through. When I used the conditioner it smelt (faintly) like seafood... I think that is the best way to describe it... It isn't as gross as it sounds.
The shampoo is a honey colour and is very runny in consistency which is kind of annoying as it runs out of my hand but my hair really agrees with it and builds up a great lather.
The conditioner I feel is quite a small tube, well I just don't think it will last well. The actual conditioner is white and nice and thick. I can tell instantly when I rub it into my hair that my hair laps it up like a big glass of water on a hot Summers day.
When I rinse it out my hair already feels soft and silky.
After when I dry my hair this is when you see the magic of Terax. Not only did my hair feel stronger, but it was ultra soft and silky and in better condition that it has felt in a long time. The smell doesn't linger in your hair either FYI.

So how does it do this? The Shampoo contains silk proteins which gives your hair the softness and the Latte is what cleans your hair or daily gunk build up (so great if you use a lot of product in your hair, also if your a swimmer) so you know your hair is really getting clean! When buying shampoo and conditioner it is important to look out of ingredients like sulfates and silicone as these can strip your hair of its colour and many hair care brands are avoiding their use, something Terax prides itself on.

The Conditioner contains Shea butter (a product I am absolutely loving right now) and its ingredients help to repair split ends and prevent breakage. There is one quote I want to use as this sounds fantastic "By altering the pH level of the hair, Terax Crema Conditioner opens the cuticle and allows moisture into hair leaving it soft, silky and shiny" I had no idea conditioner could do that.

I already have purchased another tube of the conditioner as I want to continue using it as soon as this baby runs out and I am sure I will be using it for a long time to come.

They are available: Through David Jones and also online through stores like adore beauty.

Enjoy!

Tousle me, touch me, sexy smelling hair!

The Entire Tousle Me Softly Range
I am all for things that smell amazing so when I was given this new tousle me softly range I was blown away by how amazing they all smell! Sex Hair, totally sex hair! With tones of wild violet and pomegranate (the scent de jour right now) I just can't get enough of it! I thought the Herbal Essence range called Colour Me Happy smelt amazing, but this is so much better!

This range was designed to help imperfect hair be beautiful, to assist hair become wavier, sexier then ever before, and gosh golly does it make my hair soft and silky! When I know I am going to be curling my hair to go out in the night or even during the day, I like to prep my hair the day/ night before to help my hair hold the curls.

This range Left from right is:
-Tousle Me Softly Touchably Soft Shampoo and Conditioner
-Tousle Me Softly Mousse
-Tousle Me Softly Flexible Hold Hairspray
-Tousle Me Softly Tousling Spray Gel

Rather then using a curling iron which I do sometimes do I have another way I like to curl my hair and I have pictures to show you the result too.

In the night before I wash my hair with the Tousle Me Softly Shampoo and Conditioner and whilst hair is still wet I apply a generous amount of Tousle Me Softly Mousse to allow my hair to have some grit the next day and to hold the style.

Then I seperate my hair into down the middle into 2 sides and pull the hair up in 2 tight buns (a la Sailor Moon) (IF I want to go even crazier I can do multiple buns which has tighter curls) and off I pop to sleep. Yes my hair is still wet.

The next morning when I wake up I unravel the buns and gently separate the waves. This is where I spray the Tousle Me Softly Tousling Spray Gel which helps to set the waves and really brings out that amazing smell again.

I then made a deeper side part and once content I finished off with the Tousle Me Softly Flexible Hold Hairspray which doesn't feel to stiff either.

The end result is below:
My Hair in the morning
This next picture is taken when I came home from work in the evening to show you how it holds through a full day of work. My makeup is a little worse for wear though so I apologise...
My hair and makeup in the night time almost 12 hours later....
What these products encourage you to do is to mess up your hair and play with it, scrunch it, the messier the better and with all that confidence from having sexy hair, with it smelling great as well, you will be hot to trot with this range of hair products!

You can buy these products from Priceline and other supermaket and department stores.

I would definitley buy these products especially now that it's party season and I will be wanting funky, messy, sexy party hair on a regular basis!

You need this: If you like to curl or funk your hair up on a regular basis, you sexy, naughty minx you!

A cheap and amazing Shampoo and Conditioner, Yay!!

Thank goodness for Schwarzkopf Extra Care Deep Nutrition Shea Cashmere Shampoo and Conditioner- $6.99.
Well to start off with the price point is great and really affordable. This shampoo and conditioner is readily available as well. The second thing is that they both smell AMAZING!!! If you read my blog on the review of David Babaii Shampoo you would know that the smell of shampoo really can be a deal breaker for me. The Shea butter smells like coconut and well again I use that word... Summer....
This shampoo and conditioner are riched with Shea butter which I absolutely love, I find it really nourishing and makes my hair so silky and soft.

There use a Cell repair system that uses hair-identical proteins to repair inside the cell of the hair follicle, nourishing it from the inside out.

They also make my hair nice and shiny and healthy looking which with my long hair I really need.

The only complaint I guess I would have is that when I apply the conditioner I don't get that same really nourishing feel at first when I rub it into my hair but once I have let it soak for a few minutes then I do notice the difference. When I dry my hair it feels stronger which I have noticed from other shampoos.

So after using this product I would definitley recommend it to anyone needing a really nourishing clean.

David Babaii Shampoo REVIEW...

So this is the Shampoo and Conditioner which Kate Hudsen is currently parading about in the Africa wilderness holding a baby lion and promoting on our TV's.
I have been trying the David Babaii for Wildaid amplifying shampoo (approx $21) for the past few weeks and it was not quite what I expected.

I am usually a very passionate user of natural products but the scent of this one sort of put me off.
The smell is really unappealing and turns me right off it. As I have long hair one of my favourite things is having beautiful smelling smelling hair fresh out of the shower and there is just something about this shampoo that just smells off.

What I do like is that it is cruelty free, it has volcanic ash to give volume to your which it really delivers on and it hydrates and protects your hair.
In saying that yes my hair is nice and clean and has good body but I just can't escape the smell.

Have you tried this product and found the smell off putting?

You can buy this: From Priceline and other department stores.
