Plum is the word for Winter with Arbonne

When the weather gets cooler I find myself moving away from the fake tan and embracing my pale skin and enhancing my features with darker plum lips, this year is no exception.

As I am on the road all day I sometimes don't get lunch til 2 or 3pm let alone at all so the last thing I ever have time to do is freshen up my lipstick, sad but true. So I am all about the long wearing makeup baby. 

Introducing the Arbonne's Long Wearing Lipstick in Jam-$32. I really do love this brand and it was their translucent powder that made me fall in love with them in the first place. 

This lipstick is the perfect plum shade for me and I have been consistently putting it to the test to see how long wearing it really is. When I wear this lipstick and put it on first thing in the morning I usually get til 1 or 2pm before I need a touch up so really only needing to reapply once during the day is a winner for me. 

The lipstick is extremely moisturising as well which really surprised me and glides on so smooth which makes me love it that little bit more.

Eva Longoria- The girls knows how to illuminate

I gotta say it but man oh man does Eva Longoria know how to illuminate her skin or what?

You know what I love about this picture is not only does her skin look ah-ma-zing but this picture demonstrates how you at home can re-create this look for yourself. 

If you are having trouble noting where she has applied the highlighting prod I have made it even easier for you with arrows!

 You can see from the arrows that she has placed it:

-On top of her cheek bones

-On her brow bone

-In the inner corner of her eye

-Gently lining under her eye 

-Just above her brow bone

When I aim to recreate this look there are a few products I can and do use. 

One sneaky way is with a pearl coloured eyeshadow, this is an old trick I have been using for ages and right now I have a NARS eyeshadow kit with just the perfect colour. 

My fave new product is Arbonne's Sheer Glow Highlighter $55 which has a pearl sheen to it which illuminates the skin beautifully.

To apply: Once I have finished with my primer and also my foundation I then apply the highlighter to the areas shown above and gradually build on it rather then just adding a big dollop!

Then I apply my bronzer and blush.

Note: I generally will illuminate more at night then I would during the day too. I find in the day it can make me look a bit too shiny but I do love just putting it on my brow bone.

The New Blue Eyeshadow...

If you think blue eyeshadow was just a trend of the 80's then think again...
Just as much as I love to experiment with different colours on my nails, I love to experiment with different eyeshadows.
I was given this beautiful Arbonne Blue Eye Shadow called Blue Slate and had been dying to use it.

What I love about this colour is that it is illuminous. It has a subtle shimmer which goes on beautifully.

The way I apply is by dabbing it on with a eyeshadow brush rather then rubbing it in. I like to take the colour up to just above the crease in my eye so you can see it when my eyes are open and closed. I also make the colour bolder on the outer half of my eye to accentuate my eye.

The colour is very long lasting I wore it to a party and it lasted perfectly all night.

I made sure I prepped my eyes first by applying my primer on freshly cleansed skin and then once the the primer had been able to seep in then I was able to apply my foundation and then I use translucent powder to set it.

Once I applied the eye shadow on top of my lid I took a thin slated eyeshadow brush and applied a thin line on my lower lash line from the middle of the lash line to the outer corner to blend in.

I then used a liquid liner in black from the middle top lash line to the outer corner making it thicker as I went along and this time I didn't wing it out as It would have been too much.

Then my look is done!
