When my favourite Arbonne Translucent Powder ran out I started using the Australis Finishing Powder-$12.95. This powder to start off is a really white, white rather then others I have tried in the past which are a off white. The smell of the powder is really full on like talc powder and when I am powdering around my nose and mouth I feel like I can't breathe. When I have finished applying it my face looks alright and this is where I was deceived. When I had a dress up function at work for a gala dinner I did what I would normally do and knowing I would be partying all night I set my foundation with the powder but as soon as I got near a camera flash I got hit by a nasty shock.
See evidence number one below:
The next picture is even worse...
Ummm where did my nose go... As you can see from my bombshell of a friend who looks all bronzey and amazing I look like snow white... Goddammit, I am dissappearing...
I rest my case...
Have you ever had a makeup malfunction?

Argh yes, exactly the same thing happened to me with the ELF HD translucent powder! I wasn't sure if it was because I was using a primer with SPF or the powder, but I guess it was the latter :(
ReplyDeleteEek you look so ghostly! I've never tried a translucent powder before, now I know what can happen so I'll have to choose one carefully if I ever decide to try it.
ReplyDeleteOhhh wow...I love my translucent powder, I need to check this isn't happening to me, either! Is it just in photos with flash? How can I check?
ReplyDeleteOMG! I've seen bad white casts, but this is in a class of it's own.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the warning
That's such a shame! If it's any consolation, the rest of your makeup looks great! (:
ReplyDeleteoh DANG, that is one heck of a make-up mishap.
ReplyDeleteI've honestly given up on translucent powders. Unfortunately there's a direct correlation between quality and price when it comes to powders, and I just can't be bothered to spend the kind of money needed to score a high quality, finely milled powder.
